Manual meter reading, delayed invoices, unexpected reactive penalties and transformer overload — Argus EMS solves them all.
⚡
Reactive Energy Penalty
Facilities exceeding EPDK's 20% inductive / 15% capacitive limits pay a penalty every month. Argus tracks the cumulative ratio in real time and sends an alert when the threshold is near.
🔌
Transformer Overload
Loads exceeding 85% of transformer capacity shorten equipment life. Real-time load monitoring and threshold alarms enable proactive intervention.
💡
Invisible Consumption Spikes
Which floor, block or system is over-spending? Multi-meter monitoring and hourly trend analysis reveal blind spots.
📊
Manual Budget Estimation
Monthly budget calculations done manually in Excel increase the risk of errors. Argus projects month-end automatically from the measured consumption series and recalculates the deviation every day.
Building Energy Management with Argus EMS
Seamless integration with your existing meters via Modbus TCP/RTU and M-Bus protocols — no replacement needed.
📡
Multi-Meter Monitoring
Transformers, floor panels, common areas and tenant meters — monitor everything on a single platform. Hierarchical view lets you compare consumption floor by floor.
🔔
Proactive Alarms
Transformer overload, reactive penalty threshold, abnormal consumption, UPS battery warning — early alerts across 5 categories at 15-minute granularity.
📄
Automatic Invoice Report
On the 2nd of each month, consumption calculated with EPDK tariffs is ready as a PDF invoice. Per-tenant sub-billing is supported.
🌡️
Budget Projection
Next-month forecast using historical data and weather correlation. Monthly report ready for the CFO; the projection is recalculated every day from the measured series.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does it work with my existing meters?
Yes. Integration is possible with any meter supporting Modbus TCP/RTU or M-Bus protocol. No replacement required; a field agent is added to your existing infrastructure and commissioned there. The duration depends on the site, the number of devices and the line topology.
Is data lost if the internet goes down?
No. The field agent on the site PC buffers up to 30 days of offline data locally and automatically synchronises when connectivity is restored. Zero data loss guaranteed.
How many floors can it handle?
Scales from a single-storey warehouse to a 30-storey office tower or shopping mall. Each site has its own isolated database, managed from a single platform.
Is tenant billing supported?
Yes. Consumption read from sub-meters is calculated with EPDK tariffs and a separate PDF invoice is generated for each tenant. The automatic cycle eliminates monthly manual work.
How does it prevent reactive energy penalties?
Argus monitors kVAr values at 15-minute granularity. When the cumulative inductive/capacitive ratio approaches the EPDK threshold (20%/15%) during the month, an automatic e-mail alert is sent.
Does Argus EMS replace a building automation system?
No, it complements it. Building automation runs the equipment and manages comfort; Argus EMS measures energy, costs it and reports the variance. In a smart building both can be fed from the same on-site Modbus/M-Bus line; because the measurement points are shared, no second metering infrastructure is needed.
What does the facility management team look at daily?
The daily routine for facility management is three screens: communication health (which meter has stopped reporting), the alarm list (reactive penalty risk, suspected water leak, device fault) and budget variance. All three sit on a single panel, so it is clear which block to visit before anyone goes on site.
