Argus EMS is an industrial energy management system that monitors transformers, UPS units, generators and electricity/water/gas meters via the Modbus TCP/RTU, M-Bus and MQTT protocols. It delivers real-time monitoring, automatic budget projection, EPDK reactive penalty alerts and sub-tenant billing on a single platform.
How long does the setup process take? +
The average setup time is 4 hours. Once the Field Agent is installed on the on-site PC, the Modbus/M-Bus devices are defined and the MQTT configuration is complete, the system goes live. The duration may vary depending on the existing infrastructure.
Which protocols are supported? +
Modbus TCP, Modbus RTU, M-Bus TCP, SNMP and DSE protocols are supported. Energy analyzers, transformer protection relays, UPS units, generators and water meters connect through these protocols. BACnet/IP support is planned for a future release.
Is data lost if the internet connection drops? +
No. The Field Agent on the on-site PC stores up to 30 days of data in a secure local queue even without an internet connection. When the connection is re-established, all data is automatically transferred to the server. A zero data loss guarantee is provided.
How is the reactive energy penalty prevented? +
Argus EMS compares the cumulative reactive energy ratio over the month against the EPDK thresholds (inductive 20%, capacitive 15%). When a threshold is approached, an automatic email alert is sent. This way, the compensation panel can be activated and measures taken before any penalty is paid.
For how many facilities can it be used? +
Argus EMS is designed with a multi-tenant architecture. Each facility is managed in its own isolated database. Multiple sites, factories or buildings can be monitored from a single platform; users see only the facilities they are authorized to access.
