Data Collection

Argus EMS is a SaaS-based energy management platform that reads transformers, UPS, generators and energy meters in industrial facilities every 15 minutes via Modbus TCP/RTU, M-Bus and MQTT protocols, providing single-screen monitoring, automatic budget projection and EPDK-compliant reporting. On the reporting side the daily digest, the monthly management report and invoice reconciliation are produced automatically; on the automation side, closed-loop actions such as rule-based chiller setpoint writes are executed and logged.

How long does installation take?
The scope is fixed: Field Agent setup on the site PC, device registration, and verification of the first test readings. Duration depends on device count and site network layout; no panel rewiring is required.
Is internet required?
No. The Field Agent buffers readings securely on-site; if internet is lost, data is stored for up to 30 days and auto-synchronized when the connection returns.
Which protocols are supported?
Modbus TCP, Modbus RTU, M-Bus TCP, DSE Genset protocol. BACnet/IP is on the roadmap.
Is there a risk of data loss?
Zero. Every reading is protected by an ACK mechanism. It is never removed from the queue until confirmed written to the backend.
Can multiple facilities be monitored?
Yes, Argus EMS has a multi-tenant architecture. Each facility is monitored in a separate database; roles and permissions are managed per user.
Is Argus EMS an energy automation system?
Partly. Energy automation usually means two separate things: automating data collection and automating control. Argus EMS does all of the first — meter reading, summarisation, tariff calculation, invoice reconciliation and reporting all run without human intervention. In the second it occupies a deliberately narrow area: defined write operations bounded by safe ranges, such as a chiller setpoint, are issued over a signed command channel. Argus does not replace a building management system (BMS); it relates the equipment the BMS controls to energy and cost.
