How to Connect to Argus EMS

Physical Connection

Connect the device to the RS-485 or Ethernet network. Configure Slave ID and baud rate from the device front panel or web interface.

Add Device in Argus

From the Argus web panel click "New Device". Select GrupArge RKR from the template list — the register map loads automatically.

Live Monitoring

The Field Agent tests the connection; the first reading appears on the dashboard within 60 seconds. Alarm thresholds are configured.

How does the GrupArge RKR connect to Argus EMS?
The RKR relay offers Modbus RTU (RS-485) communication; the line is converted to TCP via a Modbus gateway and connected to the Field Agent. The ready RKR template in Argus maps index, ratio and step data automatically.
How does reactive penalty tracking work?
The RKR's energy indexes are read regularly; the month-to-date cumulative inductive/capacitive ratio is continuously compared against EPDK thresholds (20% inductive, 15% capacitive). As the threshold approaches, an email warning is sent before the bill is issued.
Can a capacitor step fault be detected remotely?
Yes. Step states are monitored; steps that never engage or stay permanently engaged are signs of capacitor ageing/failure and appear in the report. The field team knows the faulty step without visiting the panel.
Do I need extra hardware if I already have an RKR relay?
No. The existing RKR relay in the field is read directly; no additional measurement device is needed. Routing the RS-485 line to the gateway is sufficient.
