How to Connect to Argus EMS

Physical Connection

Connect the device to the RS-485 or Ethernet network. Configure Slave ID and baud rate from the device front panel or web interface.

Add Device in Argus

From the Argus web panel click "New Device". Select Rhoss Chiller from the template list — the register map loads automatically.

Live Monitoring

The Field Agent tests the connection; the first reading appears on the dashboard within 60 seconds. Alarm thresholds are configured.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does a Rhoss chiller connect to Argus EMS?
The Rhoss control board offers Modbus RTU (RS-485) communication; the line is converted to TCP via a Modbus gateway and connected to the Field Agent. Selecting the ready Rhoss template in Argus loads the parameter map automatically.
Which Rhoss values are monitored?
Evaporator inlet/outlet water temperatures, cooling load, setpoint, compressor and circuit statuses and the alarm code are read. It is a parameter set validated in live field installations.
Can the setpoint be changed remotely?
Yes. The setpoint is written from Argus with a signed, authorized command; only the defined safe range is accepted and every change goes to the audit trail.
Is alarm flapping (repeated false alarms) prevented?
Yes. A communication outage is not treated as 'no alarm'; alarm decisions use consecutive confirmation (hysteresis). This prevents false alarms and email floods caused by line noise.
